Corporate Controller - Excellent leadership opportunity!

Parker & Lynch has partnered with a well known, large privately held company located just north of Richmond on a search to find their next Corporate Controller. This position will have significant exposure to senior leadership and report directly to the CFO. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership to all aspects of the Accounting department which include financial reporting, internal controls and compliance.

As the Corporate Controller your responsibilities will include
Manage all aspects of accounting and finance within the organization, providing leadership to multiple teams and ensuring department objectives are met
Continuously review processes, making recommendations and implementing best practices when needed
Ensure a smooth month end close process, that leads to efficient and accurate production of financial statements to be reviewed by the CFO
Provide training, assistance and oversight to staff and senior level associates to develop a strong team environment
Act as the technical GAAP, Accounting, Internal Controls and Tax compliance subject matter
Assist with any future Merger & Acquisition activity that the company may be pursuing
Manage the annual financial statement audit and Tax return preparation process
Perform other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting is required
CPA strongly preferred
7+ years of relevant experience required with prior experience in a leadership position over the general ledger and financial statement processes strongly preferred
Must possess a strong knowledge of GAAP, Internal Controls and accounting processes
Prior experience performing due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions is strongly preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience supervising large teams required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
