Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description Morton is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in the Richmond, VA area. The Senior Systems Engineer's role is to ensure the streamlined operation of all IT resources in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with the Director of IT to design and implement IT-related systems for the organization, as well as administration and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Senior Systems Engineer will also assist in defining and implementing IT policies, procedures and best practices. Responsibilities: Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and Office Automation equipment. Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. Provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services. Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations. Keep current with the latest technologies. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provision. Practice asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities Develop and implement IT initiatives that enable the Company to compete more vigorously and more profitably in a constantly changing and demanding marketplace. Assist Director in translating the company vision into IT systems and procedures, articulating this critical link to the company stakeholders including the Executive Team, IT staff and employees. Be viewed as a critical voice among the IT Team, driving cross-functional collaboration through the IT team. Participate actively with the IT Team to ensure our systems environments addresses the needs of the business. Lead and coordinate development of our infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibility Translate business needs into system solutions making maximum use of available tools while ensuring longer term supportability of the architecture Participate in and coordinate selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of our information technologyinfrastructure (i.e. operating systems, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and peripherals). Qualifications: 5+ years of IT Management experience in an evolving enterprise environment. 10+ years of total IT experience including computer operations management, multiple roles in systems implementation, supervision of technical personnel, architecture, security/compliance, business-wide strategic planning and budgetary responsibility. Verifiable track record of effective technical leadership which includes strong strategic thinking and successful project execution with technical and business resources. Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization. Experience with multiple software implementation methodologies including Waterfall and Agile. Experience in a Microsoft environment, Active Directory, GPO, Server 2012R2 and newer. Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Experience with VMWare and Veeam environments. Experience with Powershell and other automation/scripting technologies. Experience with Web-based technologies, such as PHP and JavaScript, is a plus. Bachelor's degree 4564

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
