Job Description Electrical Controls Engineer (Richmond, VA) Our client in Bakery Systems is currently hiring two Electrical Controls Engineers.
These are Direct Hire roles.
Position
Summary:
Electrical Engineer to provide engineering support for Bakery Systems products.
This includes designing electrical systems/components for current standard food machinery equipment, custom and legacy products, value engineering and sales support.
Responsibilities:
Develop/design electrical components based on customer requirements through researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components.
Validate systems and components capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties.
Assure product quality utilizing testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
Assemble complete and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the machine/system design Provide field service technicians remote support during system service calls, installation and commissioning.
Provide on-site troubleshooting and startup support.
This generally could result in 15-20% travel.
Provide solutions for End of Life (EOL) components within Systems to support customer needs.
Responsible for maintenance of technical documents.
Assist the Applications Engineering and Equipment Product Managers during the scope phase of a potential project.
Assist sales with custom design solutions and custom quote estimating.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
A combination of an AA degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Ability to create/ assist with the creation of technical documentation, equipment manuals and bulletins.
Ability to program PLCs, industrial robots, and HMIs.
Comfortable with working in fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and troubleshoot complex software systems.
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Experience with equipment and plant layout design.
Experience with Fanuc, or similar, industrial robots preferred.
Experience with Rockwell/ Allen-Bradley controls platforms preferred.
Experience with troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Knowledge of AutoCAD electrical.
Machine vision experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Software standardization.
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
